Studio X: from franchise exit to a branded app that sells for them
After leaving a franchise, Michelle and Duncan rebuilt Studio X on XODA — signing members up mid-call through their own branded app.
Michelle and Duncan started out under a franchise — but the franchise's app and programming never quite fit, so they went out on their own. Building Studio X independently meant finding a new platform: one where members could feel part of a community, track their progress, and stay connected, all under the founders' own brand rather than someone else's.
After a lot of research and a recommendation from Dan Henderson, they came across XODA. A single call with XODA co-founder John was enough to know it was exactly what they were after — and the support since, Michelle says, has been “nothing but amazing,” right through the transition, including calls taken in the middle of a holiday.
Today XODA is core to how Studio X sells and onboards. On a sales call, Duncan can have a prospect download Studio X's own branded app straight from the App Store and walk them through becoming a member right there on the phone — a genuinely valuable part of his sales process. When new members arrive, Michelle onboards them in minutes and shows them how to plan their week. And as a member himself, Duncan logs in to instantly see what's happening at the gym and book classes in a couple of taps.
“We came across XODA after leaving our franchise, and it was exactly what we were after. From day one, the support has been nothing but amazing.”
“Being able to walk a prospect through our own branded app while they're still on the phone has become a really valuable part of my sales process.”
